VP Marketing & Creative
Reporting to the SVP – Chief Marketing Officer, partnering with the Disney Junior General Manager, Programming and Current Series Production, Digital Media and Brand/Franchise Management, this individual will lead the Disney Junior Marketing, On air promotion & production teams. Responsibilities include overall creative strategy development, marketing strategy and leadership of the strategic and creative initiatives that drive the expansion and growth of the Disney Junior brand and its related priorities. Included within the scope of responsibilities is on-air promotion, including oversight of campaign concepting & development, OAP production (in partnership Production Management), Marketing planning and execution and budget management. The work of this team must consistently deliver the highest quality creative elements that meet strategic and brand goals while adhering to global brand positioning and creative guidelines
This individual must have a proven track record in managing the creative expression and marketing strategy of leading brands and/or businesses targeting the preschool audience (inclusive of parents/caregiver segment) that resulted in clear business achievements for the related brand. Additionally, he/she should demonstrate experience in managing the on-air creative process of a television business and/or strategic marketing experience within this specific business category. He/she must demonstrate a proven track record in effectively managing a multi-discipline team, including the creative AND marketing functions, with the ability to motivate and manage a team. Additionally, he/she must be experienced and highly engaged in digital media platforms that serve this target group. This individual must be a self-starter, forward thinking and an effective, persuasive communicator across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
Lead a highly skilled and innovative Creative and Marketing team who support the expansion of the Disney Junior from block to 24 hour network. This includes developing, motivating and evaluating employees, as well as fostering a highly collaborative team-oriented environment that consistently delivers best-in-class marketing and creative solutions, across all platforms. Work closely with the GM, Programming, Current Series, Digital Media and Brand teams to develop progressive marketing strategies and promotional plans that support content and franchise priorities, events; manage the strategic development of image and tune in promotion. This role will serve as steward for the Creative interpretation of the Disney Junior brand. Creative & On Air: Supervise show positioning, creative and marketing strategy development and execution of all Disney Junior on air creative elements and campaigns. Partner with Ad Sales, Franchise Marketing and Digital Media teams to ensure that creative consistency across multiple platforms and business groups. Marketing: Supervise the development and execution of integrated marketing and off air strategies that support the priorities and ongoing business of Disney Junior. Partnering with Franchise Management team, develop overall strategies that support the growth of key franchises while also driving viewership and interaction. Results & Analytics: Working with respective team, provide results-based learning that addresses the effectiveness of campaigns. Develop and articulate revised strategies, based on these learnings. Budget Management: Plan, track and maintain the integrated On Air/Off Air budgets of the team. Global: Partnering with overall departmental function, provide Disney Junior leadership consultation to our international partners.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years within the media / entertainment space Minimum of 10 years within the preschool category
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years within the preschool media & entertainment space MBA A proven Marketing leader within the preschool category. Expertise in the preschool demographic with proven track record in reaching this audience Proven management skills with understanding of the Marketing and Creative process Demonstrated strategic ability – from concept to final execution Strong, persuasive presentation skills Demonstrated ability in organizing information into concise, highly persuasive, visually-driven presentations. Expertise in digital media platforms Expertise in budget management Collaborative management style and comfortable in navigating a highly matrixed organization.
