Undergraduate Intern Market Research ABC Summer 2012

Responsibilities
The ABC Market Research department offers an exciting paid internship program, providing a focused, driven student with a hands-on opportunity working in the entertainment industry. The intern will assist the research department in many aspects of data collection, data input and entry, and some limited analysis. The intern will learn introductory skills in collecting local Nielsen ratings data, using Nielsen and third party software. They will assist in providing our clients with a wide range of reports, trackings and projects regarding television viewing in primetime, daytime, late night, syndication, news, cable, etc. Use ratings software to pull weekly ratings for News programs Assist in the upkeep of the ABC Studios Advisory Panel (ABC’s online community for research and marketing) Compile weekly television highlights Assist members of the department as needed
Basic Qualifications
All students must be eligible to work in the US All students must be pursuing a bachelors or masters degree and be currently enrolled at an accredited university All students must be available to work part time (20 hours/week) throughout the summer All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship All students must be professional, able to follow instructions and complete tasks given All students must be proficient with Microsoft Office (with emphasis in Excel & PowerPoint) High level of comfort with data and technology
Preferred Qualifications
Students currently in their Junior or Senior year Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Previous internship experience within a related field Previous experience in an office setting Excellent written and verbal communications skills Strong interest in marketing and the entertainment industry An understanding of television ratings or Nielsen systems
